About this layer

Find heatmaps highlight where reported historic finds are more concentrated. Stronger shading means more records in that area, not a measured chance of finding an object. Reporting and past search activity can influence the pattern.

What it is for

Read the legend and compare stronger and weaker concentrations with the individual records, where available.

Limits

A stronger colour can reflect more recording or surveying. It is not a count of finds still in the ground or an exact search location.
