About this layer
The Public Land Survey System divides land into townships, sections and smaller surveyed units. Use the grid to locate land descriptions and relate them to records. Grid lines are reference boundaries, not mining claim boundaries or public access routes.
What it is for
Turn on the relevant layers together and read their legends and notes. Check current conditions with the land manager before planning a visit.
Limits
An unshaded area is not automatically available for detecting. Different permissions and restrictions can overlap.
